2020 Waikato/Bay of Plenty Architecture Awards Winner case study - With the help of Copeland Associates Architects, a generous and well-considered veranda zone was created and invites free movement between inside and out, offering a richness and variety of space for groups of varying age, number and mood. Shelter, sunlight, air, tactile materials and child perspective are sensitively considered in each space. The architecture successfully provides protection and is also a progressive and human solution to an institutional brief. These diagonal feature beams on the verandah are PL8 visual grade.
